I reside in eastern Long Island. I am an Italian
American whose family came to the United States so their children could have the education and opportunities they never
had. In living out my family’s American dream I pursued a career in education. I graduated from college with a
B.S. in 1995 and began a teaching career with certifications in Biology, Chemistry, and General Science. I received
my M.A. in 1998, also attaining certification to be an athletic coach. From 1998-2000 I compiled an
additional 90 post graduate credits in educational pedagogy.
In 2001 I furthered my education, graduating
in 2003 with a Specialist Diploma and certifications as a School District Administrator, and School Business Administrator.
I quickly advanced to become both middle school and high school principal in Hampton Bays, New York. With my future
bright and promising I seemed to have fulfilled my family's dreams.
In 2006 a personal tragedy derailed
my life. Four and a half years later I turned this maelstrom of events into a positive. I am using my experiences to educate
students who are enduring trying times and in need of a second chance. Ironically,
it’s in conjunction with the courts and school districts of Long Island because they do offer every opportunity to help
a human life, a child in need. That's another reason why, after all that's been done, my respect for the
courts and public education has never wavered.
