BOOK REVIEWS

This should be required reading for everyone. Standing on Principal is a story that will challenge every assumption you ever had about who gets to decide who is innocent and who is guilty. This book illustrates how the media, law enforcement, judges, lawyers, and the public all have their role to play in railroading and destroying the lives of innocent people.

                                                                         - Nancy Muldoon, host of The New York Citizen podcast

A complete and thorough unmasking of what is widely believed to be a fair and just legal system. To know that taxpayer money has funded what the system has done to this man is unsettling. Somehow he had the strength to continue and overcame. Frank is a true hero and inspiration. Never giving up, exposing corruption on Long Island, and fighting to clear his name.

                                                                         - Gary Jacobs, president of Americans for Legal Reform

A harrowing tale of injustice enacted by New York's education, law enforcement, and court systems. I experienced every emotion from laughter, to sadness, to anger. The author's integrity and never quit spirit is an inspiration. You will feel many emotions while reading this incredible story, but disappointment won't be one of them!

                                                                       - Rebecca D., advocate for military veterans

Young men have been arrested and destroyed, and teenage students have been endangered while the real criminal has knowingly remained unscathed.

                                                                       - Phillip J. Jusino, criminal defense attorney/former prosecutor

Amazing! It should be made into a movie. Frank Vetro has amazing strength. I'm happy he wrote the book and hope it opens some eyes.

Words cannot describe how much respect I have for this man...I can't imagine having to endure what he's been through. He's a tremendous role model for all of us.

I laughed, cried, got angry, and was in complete disbelief at what the system has put someone through. The strength and devotion of one individual should be held in high regard. I will recommend this book to everyone I know. I truly believe that everyone can get something positive out of this story.

What makes it such a compelling story is its stark honesty...the accounts were so personal that they became gripping for me as the reader...I appreciated the author's objectivity. He never accuses or badmouths (and even admits to his own shortcomings); he simply presents the facts with supporting evidence. I felt like a fly on the wall of the criminal justice system, from lawyer's offices and courtrooms, to interrogation rooms and even jails.

WOW! I think all judges, lawyers, law students, media, well...everyone should read this book! Thanks Frank Vetro for telling your story...much respect to you and I loved your book.

The author is heartfelt and honest. I like how he gives you snapshots into his childhood, it really makes you feel like you know him. This story shines a light on some serious issues in the education and judicial systems. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend, it's a must read!

If only HALF the story is true, Frank Vetro is the victim of a tremendous injustice. I don't know how he had the strength to continue.

I felt his pain, his anger and his overwhelming disbelief and frustration that such atrocities could occur in America...[it] will leave you feeling either validated in your own battles or warned that you are not immune to becoming an unwilling part of one...his willingness to express the good, the bad and the ugly, along with his integrity will be an encouragement...brutally honest, reflective, and insightful.
